NOTE TO TEACHERS: The format of this module has been designed to have a more student- centred approach, while strategies around the pedagogy are running along the side of the actual lesson.
The Circulatory System: Three system dynamic
The circulatory system is often simply viewed as a highway for blood (often referred to as the cardiovascular system). However, the circulatory system entails three systems, independent of each other, that work together, namely: 1. The Cardiovascular System ( the heart) 2. The Pulmonary System (the lungs) 3. The Systemic System (arteries, veins and capillaries) The Circulatory System is responsible for transporting materials throughout the entire body. It transports nutrients, water, and oxygen to your billions of body cells and carries away wastes such as carbon dioxide that body cells produce. |
