Mendelian genetics is a topic that falls under strand D  of the grade 11 Ontario Science Curriculum. The main focus of this section of the website is to introduce students to Mendelian genetics which includes the study of the patterns in hereditary that occur when genes are passed from a parent to the offspring's. Key topics that will be examined in this section include a review of background information students might need to understand bigger ideas, Mendel's experiments, monohybrid, and dihybrid crosses. The following pages  contain numerous teaching suggestions and resources, as well as common misconceptions students might have prior to being exposed to this lesson. The variety of resources is meant to illustrate the many ways this strand can be differentiated to ensure student success.
